about

When Schneekersfield first came into the vaporwave scene, the whole movement was all but dead and quite frankly, Schneekersfield was mainly what helped bring it attention again. His new album is an original composition made with synths, not just a bunch of stolen 80's tracks slowed down, and stands head and shoulders above the average vaporwave album, in fact this album is almost too good to actually be considered vaporwave.

Read what some of the reviewers have to say about this album:

"I think the vast majority of vapor-wave is suited only for the niche market, though this definitely shows potential in the genre. I was surprised, and you probably will be to."

"This album really surprised me in how engaging it was. Most vaporwave releases that I've heard tend to be a little more like background music, and while this album certainly captures a nice mood, it commands your attention."

"Admittedly, most vaporwave releases have been but a series of disjointed, slowed-down samples. This album, however, breaks the mold with its wonderful sense of wistfulness and cohesiveness. It gives me hope that Downvote Music and other labels will continue to put out quality material that is up to par, while dismissing the gimmicky, ironic crap."

Japanese Symbols, In a City, At Night! transcends the limitations associated with the Vaporwave genre to create something truly captivating; an album that creates a childlike sense of awe without lingering to the point of self indulgence. If the thought of enjoying a Vaporwave without the post irony stigma causes you to roll your eyes, you might have just met your match. Schneekersfield's Japanese Symbols, In a City, At Night! proves not only can Vaporwave be enjoyed as a serious genre, but that it is seriously here to stay."
